A boutique mahjong house

The art of
gathering,
tile by tile.

Born of three friends and the brush of artist Nha Vuu. Heirloom mahjong sets where contemporary eastern brushwork meets the ritual of the table. Collection No. 001 arrives soon, in a first run of only a few hundred sets.

Our story

Three friends,
one table.

Gathered began the way every good mahjong night does: with friends around a table. Kelly, Jill, and Nha wanted tiles as beautiful as the hours spent playing them. A set worthy of being passed down, not packed away.

Every tile begins as an original work by artist Nha Vuu, whose contemporary eastern brushwork in pine-soot ink and watercolor lends movement to palms, blossoms, and birds. Her paintings become our engravings; her palette becomes our table.

We are a boutique house, deliberately small. We would rather make a few hundred perfect sets than ten thousand ordinary ones.

Modern Palms

Our first tile collection, drawn from Nha's Modern Palms series: fronds in ink and gold over bone-white faces, backed in deep gallery blue. These are studies of the set to come; final artwork arrives with the fall.

The Gathered Mat

A table deserves dressing. Our launch mat is cut in the same deep gallery blue as the tile backs, edged in a fine brass keyline, with a cushioned surface that hushes the shuffle and flatters every wash.

One mat, one collection, made to live together.

  • Plush, low-glare playing surface in gallery blue
  • Rolls flat every time, with no creases and no curl
  • Brass keyline border echoing the tile engraving
